CATHERINE FOX
Catherine Fox’s work for ‘Homeland’ is derived from a time of stewardship over the landholding on the Duckmaloi River near Oberon where she lived with husband Paul. The clarity of the light and the seasonal changes along the river inspired Catherine to record this steep, wooded landscape. These 16 years were a time of retreat, planting trees, removing willows and improving the water quality of the mountain stream for the platypus that breed in its many deep ponds. The serendipitous result of the work was that the river scape returned to nearer its native state. There were reliable platypus sightings in the waterhole on their stretch of the Duckmaloi.
